Bhadra wildlife sanctuary Chikkamagaluru, Muthodi safari ( Resorts, Entry fees, Timings, Photos )
Bhadra wildlife sanctuary usually call it as Muthodi Wildlife Sanctuary because of the village nearby. It’s a special place because it’s protected to keep tigers safe. But besides tigers, you can see many other animals like mammals, reptiles, and over 250 kinds of birds. Lots of these birds can only be found in the Western Ghats area.
In the sanctuary, there’s a really big teak tree called the Jagara Giant. It’s the biggest teak tree in the state and it’s about 400 years old. It’s around 32 meters tall and has a thick trunk that’s 5.1 meters around. The Bhadra Tiger Reserve is huge, covering about 500 square kilometers.
In 1998, the sanctuary became India’s 25th tiger project. The Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is the first tiger reserve in India to finish moving villages, which they did by 2002.
